The Denver Center for the Performing Arts is located within the Denver Performing Arts Complex, (The Plex), is located in downtown Denver, just northeast of the Colorado Convention Center, only a short walk from the lofts in LODO. The recently completed Ellie Caulkins Opera House is the latest of 9 venues making The Plex the largest performing arts center in the central United States.
In addition to being a favorite stop for Broadway road shows, the center hosts Opera Colorado, the Colorado Ballet, The Colorado Symphony, and many popular "off Broadway" shows. The center also is home to many theatre arts educational activities, making The Plex and the DCPA one of Denver's foremost attractions and cultural centers.
