Looking for a workout that hurts so good?  It Burns Joe Fitness, formerly Red Rocks Fitness, is a serious workout that is only for the extremely brave.  Every Saturday and Sunday morning at Red Rocks Amphitheater you will find Joe Hendricks and 100 others doing push ups, squats, crawling (yes, crawling) the stairs, sprinting the stairs, hopping the stairs and much, much more stair abuse .  It’s a three-hour workout that is so intense you’ll be a little afraid to return, yet you’ll enjoy the energy and strength you gain you’ll be hooked.

Joe also does another Wednesday evening workout at the Millennium Bridge in River Front Park.  It Burns Joe Fitness is a great group of Denverites that are inviting to new comers and will help you through your first couple times (you’ll need it).

I strongly recommend grabbing some weightlifting gloves as the rock and benches tear up your hands while your enjoying push-ups a million different ways.  Also, if you just want to try it out you are not obligated to stay the entire three hours.  Hendricks leads the workouts for free, only asking for donations to replace the resistance bands.

It’s an absolute must-try, at least once, if for no other reason than to see some of the unique fitness skills Hendricks pulls out of his hat of tricks.
