Map of Downtown Denver

The Downtown neighborhood, located in the heart of the Denver city center, is an exciting and active place to live. Glittering corporate and residential high-rises tower over the streets and dining, shopping, and retail establishments line the sidewalks. Denver's many attractions, including sports complexes, museums, arts venues, parks, and shopping malls are all within walking distance. Apartments, renovated lofts, and condos are available for rent or purchase in this fun neighborhood. Downtown is perfect for homebuyers in search of a lively, dynamic, and convenient Denver living experience.

Location

Denver's most centrally located neighborhood, Downtown is truly in the heart of it all. Broadway bounds this oddly shaped area to the east and Larimer St. bounds it to the west. Speer Blvd. and 20th Street are its southern and northern boundaries, respectively.

Entertainment and Shopping

The best part of living in Downtown, of course, is unlimited and easy access to the best attractions and fun Denver has to offer. The Colorado Rockies play Major League Baseball at nearby Coor's Field all summer long. Concerts and conferences of all types are held at the Colorado Convention Center. The Denver Performing Arts Complex hosts Broadway plays and theater. The Denver Art Museum, the Colorado History Museum, and the public library are only minutes away. Denver's NBA and NHL teams play at the Pepsi Center, in addition to well-known artists and bands. The 16th Street Mall, an outdoor pedestrian thoroughfare, is lined with shops and eateries. The newest addition to the mall, the Denver Pavillions, is a fantastic 52-store complex with great restaurants and a huge movie theater. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy bike rides on the Cherry Creek bike path and stroll through Civic Center Park. These attraction, all within walking distance for Downtown residents, are a great incentive to buy a home in this trendy neighborhood.

Loft Living in Downtown

Downtown boasts a nice variety of real estate, from industrial conversions to modern high-rises. Developers have converted several former office buildings into apartments and condos, some offering below-market rates for qualifying downtown employees. A few of the historic buildings, including Denver's original department store, are now luxurious lofts. The high-rises, many built at the peak of Denver's urban renewal efforts in the 70's and 80's, offer condos and apartments. As Denver's popularity continues to rise, a lovely condo or loft in Downtown would be a great investment for the present and the future.
