Get over to Sloan’s Lake this weekend for the 10th annual Dragon Boat Festival. This is a big celebration of Asian culture in Denver and there will be plenty of activities going on throughout the weekend including music, dancing, arts and crafts and plenty of great food at the Taste of Asia Food Court. They are adding more races this year and on Sunday afternoon there will be some wacky boat races such as racing backwards and barrel races.Any racers that have been eliminated earlier in the competition or those of you that have signed up for Dragon Boat 101 (see below) are welcome to compete in these races. Admission is free to Dragon Boat Festival.
If you’re looking for a little more action, sign up for Dragon Boat 101 and for only $20 you too can race your own dragon boat! The Dragon Boat Racing Association of Colorado (DRACO) will provide you with on-shore training, a life vest and a paddle and then you can also race! If you’re interested, you will need to register by 1:00 each day. Good luck!
Loving life in Denver!
