The Golden Triangle Neighborhood of Denver

Map of Golden Triangle area of Denver, Colorado

The Golden Triangle neighborhood speaks to the spirit of urban renewal sweeping downtown Denver. Once covered in paved parking lots and auto repair shops, it now boasts an aesthetic blend of residential properties and retail establishments. Golden Triangle's proximity to museums, shops, and parks guarantees easy access to a wide variety of entertainment and activities. Wider streets and easier parking make this neighborhood less hectic than other urban districts. Golden Triangle has much to offer the home-buyer in search of a relaxing and intellectually stimulating downtown living experience.

Location

Golden Triangle lies on the periphery of downtown Denver. Colfax Ave. forms its boundary to the north, while Speer Blvd. and Lincoln St. form its west and east boundaries, respectively.

Entertainment and Shopping

The Golden Triangle neighborhood provides many opportunities for intellectual fun and relaxation. The Denver Art Museum, currently undergoing a massive 6.5 million dollar expansion, holds much in store for art lovers. A free, monthly "Art Bus" shuttles viewers to new openings at the seven galleries in the neighborhood. History buffs can explore the Colorado History Museum, and residents looking for a good book can head to the Central Denver Public Library. For those who like to keep in shape, the Cherry Creek Bike Path is in close proximity. Civic Center Park lies in Golden Triangle's northern district and hosts many of Denver's annual events, including Taste of Denver and the People's Fair. Great shopping can be found at the nearby 16th Street Mall, a mere 15 minute walk from Golden Triangle. Residents can meet fellow animal lovers at the bi-monthly dog walks and make business connections at the "Third Thursday Socials." These activities instill a deep sense of community among residents, and ensure that there will always be something to do in Golden Triangle.

Loft Living in Golden Triangle

First developed early in Denver's history, very few of the original single-family houses stand today. Beginning in the 1950's, three decades of urban sprawl left Golden Triangle with a plethora of parking lots, car dealerships, and mechanics. More recently, however, the trend has shifted towards residential development, with the construction of over 500 lofts and condominiums in this decade alone. Although several of the original warehouses have been converted to lofts, most of the available real estate is in newer construction. Low-rise condominiums are in abundance; a few high-rise buildings have been constructed, and more are planned. Many of these New York style high-rises offer a full array of services, including underground parking, doormen, and security. Golden Triangle's recent residential expansion promises the motivated home buyer a nice variety of housing options.
