If you enjoy drinking beer then the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) is for you! This year there will be 522 different breweries in the competition and they anticipate more than 2,200 beers to be served and more than 3,500 beers are scheduled to be judged. This is a serious beer competition for the brewers and tons of fun for the attendees! If you are interested in home brewing, you should visit the Beer School. Whether you’re just getting started or have been brewing for years, you’re sure to learn something new. There is also a Brewers Panel in which brewers will share their stories and their beers with the audience.
I personally recommend volunteering to be a part of the Brew Crew at the event. It’s a really fun job in which you assist the brewers in serving beer samples to the masses of beer fans attending. If you volunteer for at least 3 shifts, you get a free ticket to the event and it’s probably the most fun you’ll even have volunteering. There are plenty of other volunteer opportunities but I think the Brew Crew is the most fun!
