Recreational Equipment's Denver facility is located in the building that served as the powerhouse for the electrified trolly's of The Denver Tramway Company. The building ceased operating a s a power house by 1950, however, the architecturally significant building began a new lease on life as the Forney Museum in 1968. Taking positive advantage of a public/private effort to restore the building and provide an active use, REI purchased the building and remodeled the structure to house the Denver Flagship. With a 45 foot climbing wall and a mountain bike trail, the store is a dream come true for outdoors enthusiasts.
